Get an IEP meeting and get it changed to none or minimal homework..
2 hours of homework is too much… You want them to understand how to do hard work (especially if their future includes college), but a 50-75% reduction might be a good idea until your kiddo can handle it…
Our priority is simply attending the school for now…gets exhausted after school and sleeps a lot…no time for compulsory homework…
It’s good to have distraction of homework…after all, we are preparing them for college and job…removing the obstacles every time may not be realistic..
4 hours of home work and make up for class work every night…he wakes at 5 am, school gets over at 3 pm… and homework isn’t done till 8 pm…I am exhausted, he’s fed up!!
We just don’t do it.. Teachers have tried and argued about it. But research is clear from primary school children that they are better off having down time to process the day, lots of movement and free play..
The principal needs to cooperate.. A child needs a middle ground…
Sometimes it is all they can do..to go to school. Started the exemption in middle school and he is now in high school with great grades and no homework still..
