This mostly happens when they go through a sudden change or extremely
stressful situation..
- Squeeze them…bite them back, yet not so hard…make it fun…
- My husband catches my son tight whenever he is rude and squeezes and tickles him till his mood changes…
- I bought chewy tubes for my son.. turns out he has iron deficiency.. We got him supplements and no biting since then..
- Sensory issues…when he bites, don’t say ‘biting is wrong’… say ‘ bite the chewy tube or toy instead’..
- I think it is a combination of tiredness and frustration as he’s non verbal and struggles to sleep… As his sleep improves, the biting will stop…
- Try making some ice cubes with freshly squeezed fruit juices and see if he enjoys the sensation and taste of biting and crunching those…
- Chewy tube and wrap him up in a blanket the way we do a swaddle on a
baby… - A damp wash cloth to chew upon, works for our son…
